An important event for flower lovers is definitely the Japan Grand Prix International Orchid and Flower Show. It takes place in Tokyo in mid-February every year.

I went to this event in 2018 for the first time and was fascinated by the immeasurable amount of orchids displayed in a huge exhibition hall, the Tokyo Dome in Bunkyo ward. I had never seen such a variety of orchids in my life! After all, it is one of the largest orchid exhibitions in the world. 

On top of featuring a flower market where you can buy various types of orchids, there is also an arranged orchids exhibition, and a Japan Grand Prix competition to award the most beautiful orchids and floral compositions. 

I am sure this event has grown to be even more spectacular since my last visit!

Dates : From 7 February to 14 February 2024

Opening hours : 

• 12:30 to 19:00 on 7 February

• 10:00 to 19:00 on 8-9 February

• 10:00 to 18:00 on 10-14 February

Price: ¥1900/per person for advance reservation, ¥2,100/per person for same-day ticket. Evening tickets from 7 to 9 February are also sold on for ¥1,300 (advanced reservation)/ ¥1,500 (same-day ticket) for entry after 17:00.
